I’m co-founder and Chair of SpongeFish, an exciting new social site for expressing everything you know and sharing it. From 2003-2007, I was Executive Director of SUNY Learning Environments. My job was to encourage, develop and expand the wise and creative use of new media and technologies for the 64 campuses of SUNY, the nation’s largest university. This included the SUNY Learning Network, with 100,000 online enrollments. I used to be a professor of electronic media and literature at Rensselaer Polytechnic, and before that, a professor of literature at William & Mary. I’ve written and spoken to anyone who will listen about all things “cyber-” since 1980.

Hi,
You get this email because you’ve published some articles on related topics. We are looking for people who are interested in building up an alternative lifestyle and spiritual news agency. There are many things going on in this field and even more people who are interested in such news and information. Just in the USA alone, there are more than 15 mil. people who meditate and do yoga. 50% of population embrace the concept of bioenergy and alternative healing as well as enlightenment and sufficient mind-body connection. The information they get is often distorted and misrepresented and in many cases just ignored by other news agencies and Internet services.
Our efforts are aimed at creating a web-site which could provide completely reliable information about different events, people, organizations, old practices and new technological achievements, and researches on yoga, meditation, qigong, breathing exercises, healing, fasting, healthy nutrition, longevity, and many other interesting and promising subjects. The agency can also entertain people by publishing interviews with celebrities and spiritual leaders and covering unbelievable records and occurrences connected to inner growth and spiritual development.
We would appreciate any help or interest.
Best wishes

David Porush! You’ve got a blog!
I was a freshman in your “Contemporary American Fiction” class at W&M in 1981 or so. I remember being very shocked on the day of your last lecture. I think you encouraged us to do some “active dreaming,” and I started thinking holy shit, he’s really leaving!
Very good to see that you’re out there and still, like Pluto ….”way out there!” You were always one of my very favorite teachers. I think it was a real loss to W&M when you left, but then what do I know. Your class was one heck of a lot more fun than P-chem.
Anyway, before I forget, I think I left my copy of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas is in your office.
Sincerely,
Linda
(One of the only ones on Planet Earth to have read and who owns a copy of Rope Dances).
